ORDINANCE NO. BL2009-569

An ordinance amending Section 2.62.040 of the Metropolitan Code to require that notice be sent to the district councilmember upon the filing of a Special Events permit.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 2.62.040 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby as follows:

I. By adding the following provisions at the end of subsection B.2:

“Within three business days from the date the application for a special events permit is filed, the office of film and special events shall notify the district councilmember for the district where the special event is to take place, as to the substance of the request, and shall allow the district councilmember five business days to submit written comments regarding possible community issues or concerns associated with the proposed special event prior to the issuance of any permit.”

II. By deleting subsection B.3 and substituting with the following new subsection B.3:

“3. The assistant director shall review the application and the recommendations of the various departments, as well as any written comments from the district councilmember, and shall advise the director as to the merits of the application.”

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
