ORDINANCE NO. BL2008-219
An ordinance approving an anonymous donation of $10,000 for the use and benefit of the Davidson County Drug Court program.
WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Metropolitan Charter authorizes the Metropolitan Government to accept or refuse gifts, donations, bequests or grants from any source for any purpose related to the powers and duties of the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2006-1015, as amended, requires that donations to the Metropolitan Government in excess of $5,000 be approved by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, an anonymous donor desires to make an unrestricted cash donation in the amount of $10,000 to the Davidson County Drug Court; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council authorizing the acceptance of this cash donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the anonymous donation in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for the use and benefit of the Davidson County Drug Court program is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That such accepted funds shall be appropriated to the State Trial Courts for the benefit of the Davidson County Drug Court program.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
