ORDINANCE NO. BL2008-171
An ordinance accepting the donation of a horse by the name of “Superior Candidate” for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
WHEREAS, Ben and Charlotte Downing wish to donate a Tennessee Walking Horse by the name of “Superior Candidate” to the Metropolitan Government for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation of a horse by the name of “Superior Candidate” by Ben and Charlotte Downing to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pursuant to the donation agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.
Section 2: That the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to accept the horse by the name of “Superior Candidate” for its use and benefit.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
