ORDINANCE NO. BL2008-113
An ordinance accepting a donation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by Cornerstone Church for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the Nashville Fire Department.
WHEREAS, Cornerstone Church wishes to donate funds in the amount of $25,000 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the Nashville Fire Department; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation letter from Cornerstone Church is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation of funds in the amount of $25,000 by Cornerstone Church to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pursuant to the donation letter attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That $12,500 of the funds received by the Metropolitan Government pursuant to the attached donation letter shall be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Section 3. That $12,500 of the funds received by the Metropolitan Government pursuant to the attached donation letter shall be appropriated to the Nashville Fire Department.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
