ORDINANCE NO. BL2007-1444

An ordinance approving a fee in the amount of $13.00 per mile to be charged by the Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service for the transportation of patients to hospitals.

WHEREAS, the cost of providing transportation of patients to hospitals has increased since the fee was last revised in 2004; and,  

WHEREAS, the Advisory Committee of the Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service has approved and recommended that the fee charged by the Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service for the transportation of patients to hospitals be increased to $13.00 per mile; and,

WHEREAS, it is further recommended by the Advisory Committee of the Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service that the new fee become effective on July 1, 2007; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that a fee of $13.00 per mile for the transportation of patients to hospitals be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1:          That the fee charged by Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service for the transportation of patients to hospitals be set at $13.00 per mile beginning on July 1, 2007.

SECTION 2:          That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
