ORDINANCE NO. BL2007-1443
An ordinance amending M.C.L. § 10.60.020 and § 10.60.080 to increase the fees associated with alarm system permits assessed by the Metropolitan Government.WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government currently collects a fee that is sufficient to pay for the cost associated with administering the issuance, renewal and revocation appeals associated with alarm system permits; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government also incurs a significant cost responding to false alarms at the homes and businesses of holding alarm system permits; and,
WHEREAS, in order to help off-set the cost of responding to false alarms the Metropolitan Government seeks to increase the annual fee for processing residential alarm system permits from ten dollars ($10.00) to twenty dollars ($20.00); and,
WHEREAS, in order to help off-set the cost of responding to false alarms the Metropolitan Government seeks to increase the annual fee for processing commercial alarm system permits from twenty-five dollars ($25.00) to fifty dollars ($50.00); and,
WHEREAS, in order to help off-set the cost of responding to false alarms the Metropolitan Government seeks to increase the fee for processing appeals of alarm system permit revocation notices from fifty dollars ($50.00) to seventy-five dollars ($75.00); and,
WHEREAS, in order to help off-set the cost of responding to false alarms the Metropolitan Government seeks to increase the fee for processing alarm system permit reinstatement requests and hearings from fifty dollars ($50.00) to seventy-five dollars ($75.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. M.C.L. § 10.60.020 shall be amended to substitute the phrase “twenty dollars ($20.00)” for each and every occurrence of the phrase “ten dollars.”
SECTION 2. M.C.L. § 10.60.020 shall be further amended to substitute the phrase “fifty dollars ($50.00)” for each and every occurrence of the phrase “twenty-five dollars.”
SECTION 3. M.C.L. § 10.60.080 shall be amended to substitute the phrase “seventy-five dollars ($75.00)” for each and every occurrence of the phrase “fifty dollars.”
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
