SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE NO. BL2007-1432

An Ordinance amending Chapter 5.04 of the Metropolitan Code pertaining to procedure for submitting grant applications that must be approved by the Metropolitan Council.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Chapter 5.04 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by adding the following new Section 5.04.075:

“5.04.075 Procedure for grant applications subject to council approval.
Departments, agencies, boards and commissions of the metropolitan government seeking grant funding for which the grant application is required to be approved by the metropolitan council shall make every effort to obtain council approval of the grant application before it is submitted to the grantor. In the event there is insufficient time to obtain council approval before the grant application deadline, it is permissible for a metropolitan government department, agency, board or commission to submit the grant application to the grantor contingent upon approval by the council. In the event the council does not approve a grant application that has been previously submitted, the application shall be deemed null and void and any funds received from the grantor shall be returned by the metropolitan government.”

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after is enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
