An ordinance amending Chapter 12.52 of the Metropolitan Code to make persons operating motorized wheelchairs or similar vehicles or devices subject to the same regulations and privileges provided to pedestrians.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Chapter 12.52 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by adding the following new Section 12.52.150:

"12.52.150 Use of motorized wheelchairs.
Persons with a mobility impairment operating a motorized wheelchair or similar vehicle not exceeding 1,000 pounds gross weight are subject to all regulations, and privileges, provided by this chapter to any other pedestrian."

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
