ORDINANCE NO. BL2007-1307

An ordinance amending Section 6.80.550 of the Metropolitan Code to eliminate the $200.00 storage fee for items stored at the Police Department Impound Lot, except for those items that are seized by the Police Department as a result of suspected criminal activity.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 6.80.550 of the Metropolitan Code, is hereby amended by deleting subsection (c)(4) in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following new subsection (c)(4):

"In addition to the daily storage fees set forth above, a storage fee of $200 (two hundred dollars) per item stored at the Police Department Impound Lot shall be charged by the Metropolitan Government for items seized by the Police Department as a result of suspected criminal activity. This $200 fee is not a daily fee, and is not increased by the duration of the time the item is stored."

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2007-1307 by deleting the word “seized”, wherein it appears in Section 1, and substituting in lieu thereof the word “impounded”.
