An ordinance amending Chapter 2.28 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to require the Metropolitan Fire Marshal to maintain a record of all blasting permit information, which is to be available for public inspection.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Chapter 2.28 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws shall be and the same is hereby amended by adding the following new Section 2.28.145:

"2.28.145 Blasting permit records.

It shall be the duty of the fire marshal to maintain a record of all blasting permits, which shall include, but not be limited to, the name of the person or entity seeking the permit, the location where blasting will take place, and the time(s) blasting is to occur. This information shall be a public record of the metropolitan government and shall be available for public inspection during business hours."

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
