ORDINANCE NO. BL2006-1171

An Ordinance amending Section 17.04.060 of Title 17 of the Metropolitan Code, Zoning Regulations, by modifying the definition of "family" to include a group of not more than eight unrelated persons being treated for drug and/or alcohol abuse or dependency, all of which is more specifically described herein (Proposal No. 2006Z-146T).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the codification of Title 17 of the Code of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Zoning Regulations, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 17.04.060 by amending the definition of "Family" by adding the following provision at the end of subsection 2.:

"For purposes of this subsection, 'mentally handicapped' and 'physically handicapped' includes persons being professionally treated for drug and/or alcohol dependency or abuse."

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days from and after its passage and such change be published in a newspaper of general circulation, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
