An ordinance naming Fire Station No. 39 in honor of B.R. Hall, Sr.

WHEREAS, on April 5, 2006, Billie Rhea "B.R." Hall, Sr. retired after almost 33 years of service with the Nashville Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, B.R. Hall, Sr. was hired by the Nashville Fire Department in May of 1973, and was promoted to Captain in August of 1988; and

WHEREAS, B.R. Hall, Sr. served the I.A.F.F. Local 140 Union as 2nd Vice President from 1974 to 1980, as Secretary/Treasurer from 1981 to 1983, and as President from 1983 to 1992 and from 1994 to 2006; and

WHEREAS, B.R. Hall, Sr. also served as the Fire Department's representative on the Metropolitan Government Benefit Board from 1985 to 2006; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that B.R. Hall, Sr. be recognized for his outstanding public service with the Nashville Fire Department by naming Fire Station No. 39 in his honor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Fire Station No. 39 located at 1247 South Dickerson Road in Goodlettsville, is hereby named the "B.R. Hall, Sr. Station".

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
