An ordinance adopting the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Proposal No. 2005M-221).

Whereas, the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map was created and established for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Metropolitan Code of Laws Section 13.08.010, said map being composed of a series of Atlas Sheets Base Maps showing thereon the dedicated streets and alleys which were either accepted or abandoned for public maintenance by the Metropolitan Government; and,

Whereas, the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map is on file in the office of the Department of Public Works and the Director of Public Works is authorized to note thereon any amendatory ordinance enacted by the Metropolitan Council; and,

Whereas, the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map was last amended by Ordinance No. BL2005-520, which was enacted by the Metropolitan Council on February 16, 2005; and,

Whereas, streets and alleyways within Davidson County, not included in BL2005-520, have since been duly accepted and abandoned for public maintenance by the Metropolitan Council, and duly recorded on the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map in the office of the Department of Public Works, but the map itself has not been amended; and,

Whereas, for the above reasons, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to further amend the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, with the recordation of additions and deletions of acceptances and abandonments, as reflected on the map to date, said map being on file with the Department of Public Works, is hereby ratified, approved, and adopted.

Section 2. That the Department of Public Works will annually submit for adoption such additions, deletions, or other amendments to the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map as may hereafter occur.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
