ORDINANCE NO. BL2005-777

An ordinance amending Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to require nonprofit organizations seeking grant funding from the Metropolitan Government to make their request not later than April 15th, and to restrict the amount of any grant made by the Metropolitan Government to a nonprofit organization based on the organization's total operating budget.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws be and the same is hereby amended by relettering subsection D. as subsection F., and by adding the following new subsections D. and E.:

"D. No nonprofit organization shall be eligible to receive a grant appropriation from the metropolitan government unless the organization has made a request in writing to the finance department - office of grant management - stating the organization's desire to seek funding from the metropolitan government for the next fiscal year. Such request must be received by the finance department not later than April 15th.
E. No grant appropriation made by the metropolitan government to a nonprofit organization shall exceed twenty percent (20%) of said organization's total operating budget for the fiscal year in which it is to receive the funds.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
