An ordinance amending Chapter 5.04 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to require the Department of finance to provide monthly revenue collection reports to the Metropolitan Council.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Chapter 5.04 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws be and the same is hereby amended by adding the following new Section 5.04.070:

"5.04.070 Monthly revenue collection reports.

The department of finance shall provide each member of the metropolitan council on a monthly basis a copy of the latest revenue collections for the Metropolitan Government for the current fiscal year. Such report shall contain the prior month's revenue collections, broken down by category, and shall also contain a year-to-date report, also broken down by category."

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Amendment No. 1
To
Ordinance No. BL2005-730

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2005-730 as follows:

1. By deleting the phrase "Such report shall contain the prior month's revenue collections, broken down by category, and shall also contain a year-to-date report, also broken down by category.", wherein it appears in Section 1, and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase "Such report shall contain the current year's budgeted revenues, year-to-date revenues for the most recently completed month, year-to-date revenues for the same month in the previous year, and the differences between these two years' revenues. The object account combinations shall be the same as those used in the financial pages of the final budget book for the current fiscal year. The above revenue information to be provided in the report shall be provided for each department in the general fund of the general services district and the general fund of the urban services district."

2. By renumbering Section 2 as Section 3 and adding the following new Section 2:

"Section 2. The revenue report to be provided pursuant to Section 1 hereof shall be prepared in substantially the same format as the sample form attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A."
