ORDINANCE NO. BL2005-506

An ordinance amending Section 2.44.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to enable meter maids to enforce the Code of Laws provision regarding the removal of dog excrement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVENRMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 2.44.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws be and the same is hereby amended by amending subsection B. by adding the following new provision at the end thereof:

“In addition to the primary duty of enforcing parking laws and regulations, meter maids shall have the authority to enforce and issue citations for the violation of section 2.44.070 of the metropolitan code of laws regarding the removal of dog excrement when such violation is committed in the presence of a meter maid.”

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2004-506 by deleting the phrase "violation of section 2.44.070", wherein it appears in Section 1, and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase "violation of section 8.04.180".
