An ordinance approving and authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor or his designee to execute a license agreement with the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation relating to the use of motion pictures and other licensed programs at Metropolitan Community Center facilities.

Whereas, pursuant to the terms of the license agreement (the “Agreement”) attached to this ordinance as Exhibit A, the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (“MPLC”) proposes to grant to the Metropolitan Government a non-exclusive license to allow the public performance at Metropolitan Government facilities of certain motion pictures and other licensed programs; and

Whereas, approval of the Agreement will benefit the citizens of Davidson County.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the Metropolitan Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation.

Section 2: That any amendments, renewals or extension of the terms of the Agreement must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
