An Ordinance amending Section 3.24.010 of the Metropolitan Code by reducing to six months the required number of years of service for eligibility for members of council to continue to participate in the health care plan after retirement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. Section 3.24.010 of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by amending subsection B by adding after the phrase “eight years or more” wherein it appears and before the phrase “and those persons receiving a pension” the following new phrase:

“, members of council who serve at least six months”.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
