SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE NO. BL2004-303

An Ordinance designating certain responsibility to the Metropolitan Department of Public Works regarding the signage of public and private streets and roads.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Public works shall be responsible for the signage of public streets and roads to assure that such public streets and roads, which are in close proximity to other public and private streets and roads, are not duplicated in name and do not compromise public safety. The Metropolitan Department of Public Works shall identify public streets and roads with signage that indicate the addresses that are located on those streets or roads when necessary to assist in locating addresses for public safety and emergency services.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
