An ordinance approving an amendment to the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Book Publishing Company to correct the name of the contractor.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council, in Ordinance No. 089-791, approved a contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Book Publishing Company for the codification of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, including the Metropolitan Charter; and

WHEREAS, contractor Book Publishing Company has since been acquired by Matthew Bender & Company Inc.; and,

WHEREAS, both parties wish to amend their contract to reflect the contractor’s correct name.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the amendment to the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Book Publishing Company, which amendment changes the name of the contractor from Book Publishing Company to Matthew Bender & Company Inc., attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
ORDINANCE NO. BL2004-265

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2004-265 by adding the following Section 2, and by renumbering the previous Section 2 to be Section 3.

Section 2. That all future amendments to the contract shall be approved
by Resolution of Council.
