ORDINANCE NO. BL2004-263
An ordinance authorizing the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth to accept cash donations to help underwrite the costs of the annual Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth, and authorizing the appropriation of those funds for that purpose.
Whereas, the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth held its second annual Summit on Children and Youth on March 9-10, 2004 at the Nashville Convention Center; and
Whereas, the goal of the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth is to bring together policymakers, experts, youth and advocates to analyze the key issues facing our city’s children and young people; and
Whereas, Centerstone, HCA Foundation, and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital agreed to help underwrite the costs of the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth through cash donations totaling $12,500.00; and
Whereas, the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth is an annual event.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1: That
the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth is hereby authorized
to accept cash donations to help underwrite the costs of the annual Mayor’s
Summit on Children and Youth.
Section 2: That the cash donations pledged by Centerstone, HCA Foundation,
and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital totaling $12,500.00, when received,
shall be appropriated to cover expenses related to the Mayor’s Summit
on Children and Youth.
Section 3: That the following pledged cash donations, when received, shall be appropriated to Fund 32010 (General Govt Contb/Donation Fund), Business Unit 04700200 (Youth Summit Donations):
Donor Amount of Donation
Centerstone $2,500.00
HCA Foundation $5,000.00
Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital $5,000.00
Section 4: That all future donations for the annual Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth, when received, shall be appropriated to Fund 32010 (General Govt Contb/Donation Fund), Business Unit 04700200 (Youth Summit Donations) to be used for expenses related to the annual Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth.
Section 5: That any donations received pursuant to this Ordinance that are not expended in any given year shall be available for expenses related to the Mayor’s Summit on Children and Youth in any subsequent year.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
