An ordinance to amend the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by renaming a section of Old Harding Pike to Learning Lane, and to rename a section of an unnamed right-of-way “Old Harding Pike” between Collins Road and the unnamed right-of-way, and between Highway 100 and Old Harding Pike. (Proposal No. 2004M-020G-06)

WHEREAS: The community deems it appropriate that said name be changed.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, as enacted by Ordinance No. BL2003-63, be and is hereby amended, as follows:

A section of Old Harding Pike be and is hereby renamed “Learning Lane, and an unnamed right-of-way between Collins Road and another unnamed right-of-way, and between Highway 100 and Old Harding Pike be, and is hereby, renamed “Old Harding Pike”, all of which is more particularly described by lines, words and figures on the sketch which is attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance as though copied herein.

SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Director of the Department of Public Works be and is hereby authorized and directed, upon the enactment and approval of this ordinance, to cause said change to be made on said Map as set out in Section 1 of this ordinance, and to make notation thereon of reference to the date of passage and approval of this amendatory ordinance.

SECTION 3. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this ordinance take effect immediately after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2004-192 by deleting Section 1 in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following new Section 1:

“SECTION 1. That the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, as enacted by Ordinance No. BL2003-63, be and is hereby amended, as follows:

A section of Old Harding Pike be and the same is hereby renamed “Learning Lane”, and an unnamed right-of-way between Highway 100 and Old Harding Pike be and the same is hereby named “Old Harding Pike”, all of which is more particularly described by lines, words and figures on the sketch which is attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance as though copied herein.”
