ORDINANCE NO. BL2004-169

An ordinance approving and authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor to execute an Amended Agreement extending certain contracts between the City of Goodlettsville and the Metropolitan Government.

Whereas, the City of Goodlettsville and the Metropolitan Government entered into an agreement (the “First Agreement”) dated June 7, 1967, whereby the Metropolitan Government agreed to provide sewer transportation and treatment services to the City of Goodlettsville ending on June 6, 2007; and

Whereas, the City of Goodlettsville and the Metropolitan Government entered into another agreement (the “Second Agreement”) dated July 1, 1994, whereby the parties agreed to expand the City of Goodlettsville’s sewer collection system to improve service to the residents of both the City of Goodlettsville and the Metropolitan Government for a period potentially ending on June 30, 2004; and

Whereas, pursuant to the terms of the document attached to this ordinance as Exhibit A, the City of Goodlettsville and the Metropolitan Government agree to extend the First and Second Agreements for one (1) year; and

Whereas, extension of the First and Second Agreements will benefit the citizens of Davidson County.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the City of Goodlettsville.

Section 2: That any amendments, renewals or extension of the terms of the agreement must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
