ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-57


An ordinance authorizing the Department of Finance to accept donations for the use and benefit of the Caring for Children program.


WHEREAS, many entities desire to make donations to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to be used by the Caring for Children Program to provide direct client services; and

WHEREAS, an account has been established to receive these funds; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the Department of Finance be authorized to accept such donations to be used by the Caring for Children Program to provide direct client services,
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Department of Finance be authorized to accept donations for the use and benefit of the Caring for Children program.

Section 2. That such accepted funds shall be deposited in the account established to receive these funds to be appropriated for use by the Caring for Children program to provide direct client services in accordance with the guidelines attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

Section 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to enter into a donation agreement with any person, or group of persons, who desire to make a donation to the Metropolitan Government’s Caring for Children Program.

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Ordinance No. BL2003-57

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2003-57 as follows:

By deleting the word “resolved”, wherein it appears in the enactment clause, and substituting in lieu thereof the word “enacted”.

By amending Section 1 by adding after the word “program”, the phrase “, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Council by Resolution.”
