ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-42


An ordinance amending Section 2.56.400 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws by changing the name of Justice Information System to “Justice Integration Services.”


WHEREAS, the Justice Information System was established by Ordinance No. 92-415 to “improve the administration of justice through the creation and operation of comprehensive integrated management systems and to promulgate uniform standards” for that information system;

WHEREAS, on September 5, 2003 the Justice Information System Policy Committee, acting under authority granted by Section 2.56.430 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, approved a proposal to change the name of the Justice Information System to “Justice Integration Services” in order to better describe its mission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 2.56.400 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws be amended by deleting the term “justice information system of the metropolitan government (JIS)” and in its place inserting the term “justice integration services of the metropolitan government (JIS).”

Section 2. That all references to “Justice Information System ” in the titles in Chapter 2.56 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws be changed to “Justice Integration Services” in order to comply with this ordinance.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
