ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-34
An ordinance authorizing the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods to accept cash
donations and to appropriate sponsorship money that has been received into
the general fund for the purpose of underwriting the cost of the "Celebrating
Neighborhoods" conference to be held on November 22, 2003.
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Office
of Neighborhoods is holding their annual "Celebrating
Neighborhoods" conference on Saturday November 22, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the "Celebrating Neighborhoods" conference is to increase the capacity of the neighborhood groups and associations to address issues and concerns in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Delta Dental Plan of Tennessee, W.L. Hailey & Company, BellSouth, Stringfellow, Inc., Nashville Electric Service, Nashville Gas, Insituform Technologies, Inc., Fisk University, US Infrastructure, Inc., Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, Stansell Electric Co., Inc., The District, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and Roy T. Goodwin Contractors Inc. are helping to underwrite the costs of the "Celebrating Neighborhoods" conference through cash donations totaling $25,300.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1: That the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods is authorized to accept cash donations to underwrite the cost of the "Celebrating Neighborhoods" conference.
Section 2: That the cash donations pledged by Delta Dental Plan of Tennessee, W.L. Hailey & Company, BellSouth, Stringfellow, Inc., Nashville Electric Service, Nashville Gas, Insituform Technologies, Inc., Fisk University, US Infrastructure, Inc., Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, Stansell Electric Co., Inc., The District, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and Roy T. Goodwin Contractors Inc. totaling $25,300.00 shall be appropriated to a fund for the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods to cover expenses related to the "Celebrating Neighborhoods" conference.
Section 3: That the following cash donations shall be appropriated to the Office of Neighborhoods:

Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
