Bill No. BL99-57

An ordinance approving a contract between the Vanderbilt University, School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Fire Department, Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service, to permit medical students to participate in clinical training experiences with the Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service.

Whereas, Vanderbilt University, School of Medicine wishes to contract with Fire Department, Division of Emergency for an ongoing clinical experience program for medical students; and

Whereas, the clinical experience will provide the medical students with clinical experience in emergency medicine; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract by and between Vanderbilt University, School of Medicine and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Fire Department, Division of Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service, for medical students to participate in a clinical experience with the Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That any amendments to this contract shall be approved by resolution by twenty-one affirmative vote of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
