ORDINANCE NO. BL99-123

An ordinance approving a lease agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission and P.S. Business Park L.P.

Whereas, the Department of Social Services is in need of additional space in order to provide services to the citizens of Davidson County through its Nutrition and Refugee Programs; and

Whereas, the Department of Social Services have negotiated a lease agreement for office space at 813-815 Third Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37210 with P.S. Business Park L.P., a copy of which is attached hereto; and

Whereas, the lease is for a period of thirty-six (36) months commencing November 11, 1999 and ending October 31, 2002; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said lease agreement.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Social Services, and P.S. Business Park L.P for office space, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2: That any amendments to this lease agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
