ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-1532


An ordinance accepting an advance distribution from the estate of David B. Trowbridge to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Health, for the use of the Division of Animal Control.


WHEREAS, the David B. Trowbridge has left his estate in trust for the care of his surviving pets, and

WHEREAS, the terms of Mr. Trowbridge’s last will and testament indicate that the funds remaining in trust after the death of all of Mr. Trowbridge’s surviving pets are to be distributed equally among the Humane Society of America, the Nashville Humane Association, and the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Animal Control; and,

WHEREAS, the Seventh Circuit Court for Davidson County, Tennessee, has authorized an advance distribution of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) to each of the entities named above; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this advance distribution be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the advance distribution of $50,000 from the estate of David B. Trowbridge, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use of the Metropolitan Department of Health Division of Animal Control is hereby accepted.

Section 2. That the amount of this advance distribution is hereby appropriated to Fund No. 32201 for the use of the Metropolitan Department of Health Division of Animal Control.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
