ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-1527


An ordinance approving a Memorandum of Understanding between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority to provide emergency fire and ambulance and rescue service at the John C. Tune Airport in exchange for use of Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority’s Crash Rescue Fire Truck.


WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (“MNAA”) operates a metropolitan airport, which includes maintaining a program of emergency fire and ambulance and rescue service for facilities under its control; and

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, on behalf of the Metropolitan Fire Department, and MNAA have negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding (copy attached hereto) to further emergency fire and ambulance and rescue service at the John C. Tune Airport; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Memorandum of Understanding for emergency services be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. The Memorandum of Understanding between MNAA and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for emergency fire and ambulance and rescue service at the John C. Tune Airport in exchange for Metropolitan Government’s use of MNAA’s Crash Rescue Fire Truck, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be and the same is hereby approved.

SECTION 2: That any amendments to this Memorandum of Understanding shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one (21) affirmative votes.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
