ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-1403


An ordinance abandoning a portion of an 8” Sanitary Sewer and Easement located on Map 82-12, Parcel 012.00 of Project No. 03-SG-026, Meigs Magnet School, (Proposal No. 2003M-025U-05).


WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is the owner of real property, where Meigs Magnet School is located, that is encumbered by a 8” Sanitary Sewer and Easement; and,

WHEREAS, portions of the existing 8” Sanitary Sewer and Easement are no longer being used by the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, more particularly described on the map for Project No. 03-SG-026, Meigs Magnet School, 8” Sanitary Sewer and Easement abandonment, on record in the office of the Director of Water and Sewerage Services; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Planning Commission of Nashville and Davidson County has approved the abandonment of said 8” Sanitary Sewer and Easement on February 27, 2003, Proposal No.2003M-025U-05.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That the 8” Sanitary Sewer and Easement shown on Map 82-12, Parcel 012.00 of Project No. 03-SG-026, Meigs Magnet School, copy attached, are declared abandoned. Metropolitan Government agrees to abandon the existing sewer line and easement and the Director of Water and Sewerage Services or the Director of Public Property Administration are hereby authorized to execute the appropriate instruments to carry out such abandonment.

SECTION 2: Amendments to this Legislation may be processed by Resolution.

SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
