ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-1341

An ordinance authorizing the Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept the donation of a Tennessee Walking Horse.


WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Police Department has established a Mounted Patrol Unit; and

WHEREAS, Sheila Hale and George Craig desire to donate a Tennessee Walking horse, Solo Time, to assist in the Metropolitan Police Department Mounted Patrol Unit; and

WHEREAS, a trial period with the Mounted Patrol Unit has been completed and Solo Time has been certified by a veterinarian as sound and fit for duty; and

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to authorize the acceptance of the donation.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is hereby authorized to accept the donation of a Tennessee Walking Horse, Solo Time (registration # 982711) by Sheila Hale and George Craig.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
