ORDINANCE NO. BL2003-1314
An ordinance
amending Ordinance No. BL2002-974 by extending the termination date of the Council’s
Taskforce on Afterschool Time and Youth Success from December 31, 2002, until
June 30, 2003.
WHEREAS, on April
2, 2002, the council enacted Ordinance No. BL2002-974, which in part created
the Council’s Taskforce on Afterschool Time and Youth Success (the “Taskforce”);
and
WHEREAS, the Taskforce is composed of Members of Council, youth, parents, youth, professionals, and community organizations whose purpose is to work with the Madeline Initiative and the Vanderbilt Child and Family Policy Center to develop a strategic plan to increase Out-of-School time programming and resources; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. BL2002-974, the Taskforce shall cease to exist from and after December 31, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to continue the existence of the Taskforce until June 30, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. Ordinance No. BL2002-974 is and the same is hereby amended by deleting the phrase “The Taskforce shall cease to exist from and after December 31, 2002.”, wherein it appears in Section 2 of the Ordinance, and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase “The Taskforce shall cease to exist from and after June 30, 2003.”
Section 2. The remaining provisions of Ordinance No. BL2002-974 shall remain in full force and effect upon passage of this Ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
