ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-986
An ordinance approving a grant to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, in an amount not to exceed $192,161.00 for a training program promoting cooperative strategies to reduce racial profiling.
Be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1: That the grant
agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County,
acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, and the U.S .Department
of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services for a training program
promoting cooperative strategies to reduce racial profiling, in an amount not
to exceed $192,161.00, and for a term beginning on August 1, 2001 and extending
through July 31, 2002, a copy of which is attached hereto and be made a part
of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor
is authorized to execute said Grant.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
