An ordinance approving an amendment to Contract Number 12689 by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Volume Services, Inc. for food and beverage services for the Nashville Convention Center.

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has entered into a contract with Volume Services, Inc. for the purchase of food and beverage services to the Nashville Convention Center for an original term of January 31, 1997 and extended through January 30, 2002; and

Whereas, the parties desire to extend the contract for an additional two (2) year term ending January 30, 2004; and

Whereas, the extension allows for an additional three hundred fifty thousand ($350,000) dollar investment from Volume Services, Inc. of which three hundred thousand ($300,000) dollars will be applied toward the renovation of the Nashville Convention Center Ballroom and fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars will be spent on additional smallwares; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said amendment.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the amendment to contract number 12689 between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Volume Services, Inc. for food and beverage services, to extend the term date to January 30, 2004 and allows for an additional three hundred fifty thousand ($350,000) dollar investment from Volume Services, Inc. of which three hundred thousand ($300,000) dollars will be applied toward the renovation of the Nashville Convention Center Ballroom and fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars will be spent on additional smallwares; a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved.

Section 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
