ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1292
An ordinance approving a lease agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Metropolitan Juvenile Courts and Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for the lease of space at 1611 Jo Johnston Avenue (Project No. 2003M-001U-08).
Whereas, the Metropolitan
Juvenile Court is in need of space for a truancy reduction program and suspension
school in the John Henry Hale Housing Development; and
Whereas, the Metropolitan Juvenile Court have negotiated a lease agreement with
the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for space at 1611 Jo Johnston
Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203 in the John Henry Hale Housing Development, a copy
of which is attached hereto; and
Whereas, the lease is for a period of three (3) years commencing October 1,
2000 and ending September 30, 2003 with an option to renew for one additional
one year at no cost to the Metropolitan Government; and
Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government
to approve said lease agreement.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1: That
the lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson
County, acting through the Metropolitan Juvenile Court, and the Metropolitan
Development and Housing Agency for space for a truancy reduction program and
suspension school in the John Henry Hale Housing Development, for a term of
three (3) years beginning October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2003 at no cost
to the Metropolitan Government, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2: That any amendments to this lease agreement shall be approved by
resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage,
the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County
requiring it.

Amendment No. 1
To
Ordinance No. BL2002-1292
Mr. President:
I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2002-1292 by deleting the phrase “three (3)
years”, wherein it appears in the third recital clause and in Section 1 of the ordinance, and
substituting in lieu thereof the phrase “two (2) years”.
