ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1275
An ordinance authorizing the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods to accept cash donations and to appropriate sponsorship money that has been received into the general fund for the purpose of underwriting the cost of the 2002 “National Night Out Against Crime” conference and “Celebrating Neighborhoods” conference.
Whereas, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods held the second annual “National
Night Out Against Crime” conference on August 6, 2002 and the “Celebrating
Neighborhoods” conference on November 2, 2002; and
Whereas, the goals of the “National Night Out Against Crime” and “Celebrating Neighborhoods” conferences were to increase the capacity of the neighborhood groups and associations to address issues and concerns in their communities; and
Whereas, BellSouth, Nashville Electric Service, Vanderbilt University, and AmSouth Bank have agreed to help underwrite the costs of the “National Night Out Against Crime” and “Celebrating Neighborhoods” conferences through cash donations totaling eleven thousand dollars ($11,000).
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That
the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods is authorized to accept cash donations
to underwrite the costs of the “National Night Out Against Crime”
and “Celebrating Neighborhoods” conferences.
Section 2. That the cash donations pledged by BellSouth, Nashville Electric
Service, Vanderbilt University, and AmSouth Bank, totaling eleven thousand dollars
($11,000), when received, shall be appropriated to a fund for the Mayor’s
Office of Neighborhoods to cover expenses related to the “National Night
Out Against Crime” and “Celebrating Neighborhoods” conferences.
Section 4. That the following pledged cash donations, when received, shall be appropriated to the Office of Neighborhoods, Fund No. 04700100:

Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
