ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1238

An ordinance accepting a donation from the Dodge Division of the Daimler-Chrysler Corporation to the Metropolitan Police and Fire Departments.


WHEREAS, the Dodge division of Daimler-Chrysler sponsoried a parade for drivers of the Dodge Viper to downtown Nashville on September 26, 2002; and,

WHEREAS, the Viper Parade was expected to attract 400 drivers and Vipers from Opry Mills to Riverfront Park in downtown Nashville; and

WHEREAS, the Dodge division of Daimler-Chrysler presented two checks in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) each, one to the Metro Police Department and one to the Nashville Fire Department in appreciation for all of the hard working men and women of those departments.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donations of one thousand five hundred ($1,500) to the Metro Police Department and one thousand five hundred ($1,500) to the Nashville Fire Department are accepted.

Section 2 That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
