ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1213

An ordinance approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for the Child and Family Intervention Grant.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed six hundred forty one thousand six hundred seventy four dollars ($641,674) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for the Child and Family Intervention Grant; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through Juvenile Court, for the Child and Family Intervention Grant, in an amount not to exceed six hundred forty one thousand six hundred seventy four dollars ($641,674), for a term of July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That any amendments to this Grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
