ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1188
An ordinance approving a grant in an amount not to exceed $355,500 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the 20th Judicial District Attorney General's Office for the Major Drug Enforcement Program.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee,
Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant for a term of
July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2006, in an amount not to exceed three hundred fifty
five thousand five hundred dollars ($355,500) to The Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the 20th Judicial District
Attorney General's Office for the Major Drug Enforcement Program; and
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department
of Finance and Administration, for a term of July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2006,
in an amount not to exceed three hundred fifty five thousand five hundred dollars
($355,500) to be paid in increments of eighty five thousand dollars ($85,000)
for year 2002-2003 and ninety thousand dollars ($90,000) each remaining year,
to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through
the 20th Judicial District Attorney General's Office for the Major Drug Enforcement
Program, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby
approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the sum of twenty eight thousand five hundred dollars ($28,500)
be provided for the first year and the sum of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000)
be provided each remaining year for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan
Government’s matching share for the program.
Section 3. That any amendments to this grant may be approved by a resolution
of the Metropolitan Council, which receives at least twenty-one affirmative
votes.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage,
the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County
requiring it.
