ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1173

An ordinance authorizing the Police Department of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept a donation of $1,507.05 from the Carl Williams 5K Walk/Run For Victims Rights for the benefit of the Police Department’s Victim Intervention Program.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department maintains the Victim Intervention Program and is in a position to accept monetary donations on behalf of the program; and

Whereas all funds from the donation from the Carl Williams 5K Walk/Run for Victim’s Rights will be appropriated to 31110400.503001 Behavioral Health Sciences Division, which administers the Victim Intervention Program; and

Whereas the donation would be used to assist and compliment the Victim Intervention Program’s services for victims and/or witnesses of violent crime; and

Whereas it is deemed in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve the donation from the Carl Williams 5K Walk/Run for Victim’s Rights;

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is hereby authorized to accept the donation of $1,507.05 from the Carl Williams 5K Walk/Run For Victim’s Rights for the benefit of the Police Department’s Victim Intervention Program.

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
