An ordinance approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts ("AOC"), to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for and on behalf of the Twentieth Judicial District State Trial Courts, for the Divorce Education and Mediation Project.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts, has awarded a grant in the amount of nine thousand six hundred dollars ($9,600) to Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through, the Twentieth Judicial District State Trial Courts, for the Divorce Education and Mediation Project; and,
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through, the Twentieth Judicial District State Trial Courts, for the Divorce Education and Mediation Project, in an amount not to exceed nine thousand six hundred dollars ($9,600), for a term beginning on July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That amendments to the grant referenced herein shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
