ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1164
An
ordinance authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor to make an application and execute
the necessary documents to secure a grant and/or loan from the U. S. Department
of the Army, Federal Emergency Management Agency and/ or the State of Tennessee
Emergency Management Agency to fund the projects listed
herein.
WHEREAS, the
Robert T. Stafford Disaster Assistance and Emergency Relief Act as amended, 42
U. S. C 5121, et seq. provided funding to the U. S. Department of the Army,
Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State of Tennessee to created a
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Emergency Management Agency has Flood Mitigation Assistance Program to fund eligible projects.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1: That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute all necessary documents, to apply for and secure a grant to fund the following U. S. Department of the Army, Federal Emergency Management Agency and/ or the State of Tennessee Emergency Management Agency eligible projects:

Wimpole Drive | Home Buyout Purchase five (5) homes |
SECTION 2: That
the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the necessary contracts
with the United States Government and/ or the State of Tennessee to accept the
grants to fund the projects identified in Section 1.
SECTION 3: That
future projects eligible under the Federal Emergency Management Agency programs
administered by the State of Tennessee may be added by resolution to Section
1.of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: That the Department of Water and
Sewerage Services is hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps
required to enable The Metropolitan Government to participate in federal and
state Disaster Assistance and Emergency Relief grant programs. It is the
intention of the Metropolitan Council that this Ordinance be literally construed
to effectuate this intent.
SECTION 5: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2002-1164 as follows:
That Section 1 be amended by changing the “Project Description” for Wimpole Drive Home Buyout to read as follows:
