An ordinance amending Chapter 8.20 of the Metropolitan Code by prohibiting the feeding of fowl in any street, alley, road, sidewalk, or other public way within the urban services district.

WHEREAS, the feeding of pigeons and other fowl in public sidewalks and public ways attracts such fowl and may create a public health hazard.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. Chapter 8.20 shall be and the same is hereby amended adding the following new section:

"Section 8.20.140. Feeding fowl prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to feed pigeons, ducks, geese, chickens, or other fowl, wild or domestic, in any street, alley, road, sidewalk, or other public way within the urban services district."

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1116

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2002-1116 by deleting Section 1 in its entirety and placing in lieu thereof the following:

“SECTION 1. Chapter 8.20 shall be and the same is hereby amended adding the following new section:

‘Section 8.20.140. Feeding fowl prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to feed pigeons, chickens, or other non-water fowl, wild or domestic, in any street, alley, road, sidewalk, or other public way within the urban services district.’”
