ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1027

An ordinance accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of pass-through funding to subsidize emergency management.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed sixty two thousand dollars ($62,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of pass through funding to subsidize emergency management; and

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency in an amount not to exceed sixty two thousand dollars ($62,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of pass through funding to subsidize emergency management, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the sum of sixty two thousand dollars ($62,000) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government's in kind matching share for the program.

Section 3. That any amendments to this grant may be approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council that receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
