ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-879

An ordinance accepting the donation of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee from the Chrysler Corporation to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Whereas, on July 22, 1999, the Metropolitan Police Department recovered a stolen 1996 Jeep Cherokee belonging to the Chrysler Corporation; and

Whereas, the Chrysler Corporation has determined that it has no interest in the vehicle and is willing to donate the vehicle to the Metropolitan Police Department for undercover type use; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department is in need of such a vehicle for undercover type use.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the donation of the 1996 Chrysler Jeep Cherokee, vin number 1J4GZ78Y1TC342643 from the Chrysler Corporation is hereby accepted as the property of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for use by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Section 2. That the Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the people requiring it.
