ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-872

An ordinance approving a lease agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Policeman's Benefit Association for the lease of the DeBerry Correctional Building.

Whereas, the Policeman's Benefit Association is in need of a facility in which to hold its annual haunted house fund raising event; and

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns but does not currently use the DeBerry Correctional Building; and

Whereas, a lease of the DeBerry Correctional Building, a copy of which is attached hereto, has been negotiated with the Policeman Benefit Association; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best of The Metropolitan Government to approve said lease.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the lease agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Policeman's Benefit Association, for DeBerry Correctional Building, located at 3250 Ezell Pike, Nashville, Tennessee, is hereby approved.

Section 2: That any amendments to this lease agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty one affirmative votes.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
