An ordinance approving a lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department and Signature Center, G.P. for the lease of office space for the Pass Program.

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department has negotiated an amendment to the lease agreement with Signature Center G.P. to lease office space at 1900 Church Street, Suite 500, Nashville, TN 37203, to house its Pass Program, for a term of July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2006, a copy of which is attached hereto; and

Whereas, the base rent per month shall be $7,570.31 for July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002; $7,796.41 for July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003; and $8,030.59 for July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment to the lease agreement be approved.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the amendment to the lease agreement entered into between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department and Signature Center, G.P., to extend the term of the lease to June 30, 2006 and which amendment increases the monthly rent to $7,570.31 for July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002; $7,796.41 for July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003; and $8,030.59 for July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That any new amendments to lease shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
