ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-756

An ordinance accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission, in an amount not to exceed $250,000 for the Hermitage Replanting Project.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission for the Hermitage Replanting Project; and

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has negotiated an agreement with The Hermitage for use of said funds for the replanting project; and

Whereas, The Hermitage has agreed to provide sixty two thousand five hundred dollars ($62,500) as the required matching funds for the replanting project; and

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation in an amount not to exceed two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission for the Hermitage Replanting Project, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That any amendments to this grant may be approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council that receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
