ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-714

An ordinance authorizing the Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept the donation of an NEC-EWS 4800-260 Fingerprint Station from the Office of the Sheriff of Dougherty County, Georgia.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department maintains an Identification Division; and
Whereas, the Office of the Sheriff for Dougherty County, Georgia desires to donate an NEC-EWS 4800-260 Fingerprint Station, with a value of approximately $50,000, to the Metropolitan Police Department Identification Division; and
Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department has need for the fingerprint station to be donated based upon the workload placed on the work stations already in use; and
Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to authorize the acceptance of the donation.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is hereby authorized to accept the donation of the NEC-EWS 4800-260 Fingerprint Station from the Office of the Sheriff for Dougherty County, Georgia.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
